Carlos was born and raised in Northeast New Jersey. At the age of 16, he was invited to church by a friend. After a year of attending Bible studies and through the faithful Gospel witness of the church, he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Carlos later married that friend, Madai, and together they are the parents of three blessings: Josh, Hannah and Avery.

After graduating from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1997 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and working some years in industry, Carlos sensed God calling him to the ministry of the Gospel. After much prayer and the confirmation of the call by others, Carlos entered seminary, graduating in 2006 with a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. During his time at seminary, Carlos was mentored by the pastors at Open Door Church in Raleigh, NC, and participated in the pastoral ministry internship. In late 2009, the pastors and members of Open Door affirmed God’s calling on his life and Carlos was ordained as one of its pastors. Specifically as the Pastor of Hispanic Ministries.

Carlos serves as the Lead Pastor of Christ Our Hope Church and as a chaplain for Corporate Chaplains of America. He desires to be a faithful minister of the Word and to lead the church in the joyful witness of the Gospel in the community and beyond. Carlos envisions Christ Our Hope Church to be an instrument of God’s grace in the community and to be a church planting center that will equip and send future church planters and pastors to spread the Good News to all peoples.

Wes grew up in Virginia Beach, VA, where his father led him to the Lord as a young man. He married his wife, Zhanara, after college, and together they have three children—Odelia, Isaiah and Angela.

During Wes’ first semester in college, God challenged his life direction, which eventually led him to bible college and seminary. He attended Southeastern Seminary where he earned the B.A. in Biblical Studies and The History of Ideas; followed by the M.A. in Intercultural Studies and the Master of Divinity, and finally the Doctor of Philosophy. God showed him, however, that ministry is more than academics. Starting in January 2012, Wes completed in the pastoral ministry internship at Open Door Church in Raleigh, NC, and was sent out with the Soca’s as a church planter here in Northern New Jersey.

Wes serves as a Pastor of Christ Our Hope Church and as the director of community outreach for the church. He is passionate about the worldwide advance of the gospel and his desire is to see the church reflect the heavenly scene of Revelation 4–5 and 7, where the immeasurable multitude of diverse peoples unite in worship of Jesus. He desires to be a catalyst for this church in evangelism and church planting, compassionate outreach, and for the cultural engagement with Clifton, North Jersey, Metro NY, to the ends of the Earth.
