Carlos was born and raised in Northeast New Jersey. At the age of 16, he was invited to church by a friend. After a year of attending Bible studies and through the faithful Gospel witness of the church, he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Carlos later married that friend, Madai, and together they are the parents of three blessings: Josh, Hannah and Avery.
After graduating from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1997 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and working some years in industry, Carlos sensed God calling him to the ministry of the Gospel. After much prayer and the confirmation of the call by others, Carlos entered seminary, graduating in 2006 with a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. During his time at seminary, Carlos was mentored by the pastors at Open Door Church in Raleigh, NC, and participated in the pastoral ministry internship. In late 2009, the pastors and members of Open Door affirmed God’s calling on his life and Carlos was ordained as one of its pastors. Specifically as the Pastor of Hispanic Ministries. Carlos serves as the Lead Pastor of Christ Our Hope Church. He desires to be a faithful minister of the Word and to lead the church in the joyful witness of the Gospel in the community and beyond. Carlos is currently pursuing a PhD at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
